from about 1970-1976, with all of the same Reynolds features
(i.e. first no gold band at the bottom, then "Reynolds Tube Co. Inc.",
etc.)
This decal was commissioned by Schwinn who believed that the standard
decals were misrepresenting the 531 tube sets. The forks and stays
are actually not butted, they are made of "taper guage" tubing which,
after being tapered, is a constant thickness.
Carlton started to use the stars decals in 1977, I have a Raleigh
Competition G.S. with the stars decals, and a 1977 Carlton Pro with
the stars decal.
